Basements

The main stages of our basement construction are:

• The site is made safe and secure

• The basement area is excavated and the excavation made safe to ensure it does not collapse. If necessary, the existing property may be propped up with steel props

• The basement area is then created either by underpinning or by use of a piling method, Forticrete Stepoc blocks, reinforced concrete walls or a combination of these depending on the design of the basement. Our structural engineer designs the construction method and provides structural calculations. At this stage, the method of waterproofing the basement is also designed in

• The waterproof shell is then ready to be fitted out to the client’s requirements
